With Colorado offering so many outdoor areas for us to enjoy, land maintenance and repair are vital to ensuring nature stays healthy and beautiful.
In an effort to keep this mission alive, the National Forest Foundation along with the U.S. Forest Service have partnered with MHYC in order to address and maintain high priority trails and recreational areas, by restoring trails, building rock steps, and installing structures like gates and bridges (to name a few).
“2021 marked the second season of the Strike Team, and this season drew on lessons and successes from the previous season to improve efficiency and effectiveness. In its first two seasons, the Strike Team completed 38 weeks of project work, covering four USFS Ranger Districts and improving access to over 92 miles of National Forest System Trails.”
